Who's Who and What They Do
Aaron Walsh has studied piano with private instructors for over 23 years. Beginning at the age of six, he quickly climbed through four teachers until he landed in the studio of Joanne Hopper, Professor at Ohio Wesleyan University. Aaron has taught traditional piano for over 10 years with a focus on classical music and is accepting students of any age from beginner to advanced levels.

Greg Benson received an Associate Degree in Music from the University of Maine and his Bachelors in Music from The Ohio State University. He was made a part time faculty member at University of Maine, where he taught music theory and first year jazz guitar. Greg has taught private and group guitar lessons for several years and has directed a guitar ensemble. He teaches all ages from children to adults and covers all basic guitar styles from fingerstyle to using a pick and all styles of music from classical to rock.

Adam Berner, Guitar/Electric Bass/Voice/Valved Brass (waitlist only)
A professional musician since age 16, Adam Berner performs 100-150 dates a year with a number of ensembles of varying styles. As a music performance major at Otterbein College from 1994 to 1998, Adam studied voice and brass along with his concentration in electric bass. He has been able to share his diverse music background with students for nearly six years at Arrowhead Music in Mentor, Ohio. Returning to Columbus in 2006 to finish his degree, Adam is excited to offer his unique insights as a teacher for all ages at the Upper Arlington Music Academy.
Emily Campbell, Piano (waitlist only)
Emily Cambpell studied piano privately for twelve years before receiving her Level One and Two Suzuki teaching certification from the Capital University Suzuki Institute in 2002.  For over ten years, Emily has acquired experience by providing piano accompaniment for vocalists and instrumentalists and has served as choir director and pianist for local churches. Emily has been teaching at the Upper Arlington Music Academy since 2001 and enjoys teaching beginner and intermediate students of all ages.
Salina Fruth, Flute/Piccolo
Salina Fruth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Business from Heidelberg College in 1999. There she studied flute performance, chamber music, and piano. She has professional performance experience both as a solo flutist and an ensemble member since 1995.  Salina taught privately for four years before becoming the owner and an instructor at the Upper Arlington Music Academy in 2001.
Neal Havener, Piano/Electric Guitar/Acoustic Guitar (waitlist only)
Neal Havener studied audio engineering and jazz at The Ohio State University School of Music and has performed in various musical groups since 1982. Beginning in 1998, Neal received his Level One Suzuki teaching certification from the Capital University Suzuki Institute and is now qualified to teach through Level Four. Neal has been teaching at the Upper Arlington Music Academy since 1997 and accepts students of all ages and levels of experience.
Ken Marotte, Piano
Ken Marotte has a Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University and has over 16 years of private formal piano study.  He has played in symphonic bands while an undergraduate student at Georgetown College.  Ken welcomes students of all ages and levels who wish to learn traditional style piano.
Gabriela Miller, Piano/Violin/Viola
Gabriela Miller is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music where she studied violin performance. Playing since she was three, her previous teachers include Alan Bodman, concertmaster of the Akron Symphony and Yoko Morore, assistant concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra. Her chamber music experience includes playing with the Canton and Akron youth symphonies; the Alliance Symphony, and the Cleveland Orchestra's Youth Orchestra, with whom she played at Carnegie Hall during their 2001 tour. In addition Gabby has appeared as a soloist with the Canton Symphony and the Stow Symphony in Akron, OH.
Tom Ulichny, Guitar/Percussion
In 2005, Tom Ulichny graduated Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston. As a multi-instrumentalist Tom studied guitar, drum set, and world hand percussion at Berklee, followed by a semester in Pune, India studying tabla and Indian rhythmic systems.   He then worked as an adjunct professor for the St. John School of the Arts in the U.S. Virgin Islands before becoming Director of Music Education for Fell's Point Music in Baltimore.  In the ten years Tom has been teaching and performing, he's worked with students of all ages and skill levels. He's currently offering lessons for both guitar and percussion focusing on contemporary approaches to rock, blues, folk, fusion and world music.

Junghwa Lee, Piano
Junghwa Lee received a Doctor of Musical Art degree from the Ohio State University in December 2008.  She served as a Graduate Teaching Associate in Piano for three years while studying with Dr. Caroline Hong.  She has taught many students in various ages and also has concretized as both soloist and chamber musician in Korea and in the United States.
Heidi Howes, Voice/Guitar/Kindermusik
Heidi Howes has been singing and writing songs as long as she can remember. A classically trained lyric soprano and modern singer-songwriter, Heidi holds a BA in Vocal Performance and Creative Writing from Northland College.  Howes teaches Voice, Guitar, Songwriting, and soon Kindermusik! She recently moved from rural Wisconsin to Columbus, Ohio where she lives with her husband and two young children. In Wisconsin, Howes founded and directed the Lake Superior Girls Rock camp which promotes growth and self-esteem through creative music for teenage girls. Currently she is preparing a new recording and poetry project entitled MotherSongs while attending school to become a nurse.  You can hear/see/read about her "extracurricular" work at www.heidihowes.com.

Lucy Liang, Piano
Lucy Liang is a classically trained pianist. She began playing the piano at age 4 and ten years later, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Leuven Conservatory in Belgium, before moving to the US. In 2005, Lucy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from the prestigious Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she received a scholarship and studied under the Piano Department's Chairwoman Evelyne Brancart. She has been teaching private piano since, giving lessons in both English and Chinese. Lucy welcomes students of all ages and skill levels.
